What will John Calipari do?

By now we have all heard that University of Memphis head basketball coach John Calipari has been offered the same position by the University of Kentucky.  The deal, according to ESPN, is for eight years and $35 million.  That deal would make him the highest paid coach in college basketball.

Here's the kicker.  A source has let me know that last night, Memphis athletic director R.C. Johnson and the biggest monetary contributors to the university had a private meeting with Calipari

The coach was made an offer to stay at Memphis for $60 million and 10 years.  That deal would make John Calipari the second highest paid coach in all of American sports, collegiate or professional.  The highest paid coach in American sports is Phil Jackson of the Los Angeles Lakers.

ESPN is not reporting this, but I think this offer has been put on the table.
